Alex Hernandez

Managing Partner

Alex Hernandez serves as a Partner at CSA providing Climate Change consulting services to U.S. Federal and State governmental entities. Mr. Hernandez is currently the President of Hernandez Consulting LLC, a government contractor specializing in providing Project Management and Environmental Services. In this capacity, Mr. Hernandez has performed environmental remediation services for both the Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Services. He previously held posts at both Blanchard & Company and Citigroup. At Citigroup, Mr. Hernandez worked in Alternative Investments where he managed Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Structured Products sold in the U.S. and Latin America. Mr. Hernandez was also a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps specializing in Logistics Operations, where he has also served collateral duties as a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare Officer. He holds both a BA Cum Laude and an MBA in Management and Finance from Tulane University.

Nick Loeb

Managing Partner

Nick Loeb serves as a managing partner at CSA providing climate change advisory services to corporate and government clients. Previously he was a banker for Lehman Brothers, Inc. and president of Loeb Investments, a private investment company. At Loeb Investments he partnered with HGC Capital, an environmental remediation firm to create carbon credits though methane capture of landfills in alignment with the UN's Clean Development Mechanism. More recently Mr. Loeb was invited to speak as a faculty member at the Practising Law Institute on the topic of Establishing and Enforcing Corporate Green Technology Policies. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Green Task Force's governmental sub-committee, and also serves on the following boards, the School Choice Fund, Broward County Crime Commission and formerly the Florida Co-Chair for Rudy Giuliani's Presidential Campaign. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.

Dr. Heike Lueger

Chief Environmental Scientist

Dr. Heike Lueger serves as CSA's Chief Environmental Scientist who has extensive experience in corporate wide carbon footprinting strategies, greenhouse gas reduction and sustainability. Most recently she has been invited to speak at the South Florida Business Journal's inaugural Business of Green breakfast, presented by Oracle. Dr. Lueger is an environmental scientist and oceanographer who worked for the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and is experienced with the science of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) and Climate Change. During her international work she specialized in carbon inventories in the ocean and published several peer-reviewed articles on this topic and has also worked for the National Institute for Environmental Sciences in Tsubuka, Japan and the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, UK. Dr. Lueger received her PhD Magna cum Laude at the renowned Institute for Marine Sciences Kiel, Germany and holds an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Plymouth, UK and an MSc in Biology Sciences from the University of Duesseldorf, Germany.

Dr. Jeffrey Simon

Vice President/ Business development

Dr. Jeffrey Simon serves as CSA’s Vice President of Business Development. Dr. Simon has also worked as a diagnostic radiologist in the medical field. In addition, he serves on the academic advisory board for Lead America, where he is currently helping to implement an environmental leadership youth program. Dr. Simon has read in Biochemistry at Oxford University in England and completed a first year MBA while serving his Fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Simon performed his residency at Georgetown University, received an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College, and a Bachelor in Neuroscience with a minor in Economic Theory at University of Rochester.

Michael Wallander

Legal Counsel

Michael Wallander is an attorney with Greenberg Traurig where he focuses his legal practice on matters that involve the intersection of corporate and securities law and sustainability. He regularly assists governmental clients, non-profit organizations and public and private companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies with corporate and environmental strategy. He is an active member of Greenberg Traurig's Climate Change, Green Building and Sustainable Development and Carbon Credits groups. Mr. Wallander has been at the forefront of efforts to integrate sustainability concepts within various types of market-based incentive regimes. He serves as Vice Chair for the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Committee on Innovation, Management Systems and Trading. He founded the Palm Beach chapter of Green Drinks, and is a Member of the Leaders Circle, United Way of Palm Beach County; the Florida Bar Association; Pennsylvania Bar Association; and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Mr. Wallander graduated with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center with an LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation, he obtained a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he served as Class Marshall, President of the Class and Business Editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce and he obtained a B.A. in English from the University of Florida.

Jon Brewer

Analyst

Jon Brewer joined the CSA team recently and serves as an Analyst. He has in-depth knowledge of common carbon footprinting methodologies and algorithm development. Amongst others Mr. Brewer is accomplished in energy efficiency strategies and measures. Previously, Mr. Brewer worked in the production and testing department where he also designed 6 new devices for development of 16bit Freescale microcontrollers. Mr. Brewer graduated in Physics with a minor in Earth science. In his research he analyzed seismic data to further the understanding of velocity models in the Central American subduction zone. Furthermore Mr. Brewer conducted original research on the occurrence of low-frequency earthquakes in the Central American subduction zone in conjunction with university researchers.

Tommaso Fattovich

Senior Sales and Marketing Consultant

Tommaso Fattovich serves as a sales and marketing consultant at CSA. Previously, he worked in the agricultural industry with a position at Aminofol, implementing marketing initiatives for the company's South American and European clients. Mr. Fattovich also worked for Clear Channel Radio as an account executive covering the South Florida market. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BS in Communications and an MBA in International Business.
